Bottoms Up With Blue Bell

I discovered Blue Bell Ice Cream last summer when Alex and I were living in Texas and since then I have been on the look out for it everywhere I go. Last week when we were in Myrtle Beach I saw a Blue Bell Ice Cream sign and I practically ran to it. This is my favorite ice cream and I am really excited to tell you all about it.
Blue Bell Ice Cream was first made in 1930 and they have been cranking out half gallons and pints of ice cream ever since. Unfortunately for us New Yorkers, Blue Bell Ice Cream can only be found in 26% of the nations supermarkets with products sold in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming. However, I am filling you in on this amazing treat so next time you take a trip South you will discover it for yourself.
My favorite Blue Bell Ice Cream flavor is Moo-llennium Crunch. It is "classic vanilla ice cream with a combination of dark chocolate chunks, creamy caramel chunks, roasted pecan halves, chopped almonds and walnut pieces." Yummy! Next time you head south check Blue Bell Ice Cream out for yourself!
Go Blue Bell Ice Cream!

Studio Square NYC- The Ultimate Beer Garden

To celebrate Memorial Day, Alex and I took an adventure North of Brooklyn. We got off of the R train in Astoria, Queens on 36th street, walked a few blocks and discovered an awesome Beer Garden called Studio Square NYC. OK, I can't take all of the credit for this magnificent find because this was the preplanned meeting location for our friends, but we did get their first!
 Studio Square NYC is this amazing gem in Astoria, Queens where all the locals come. It's a massive event and entertainment complex that "brings the spirit and traditions of an open-air German beer garden into the modern era." It's freaking huge, over 30,000 square feet to be more precise. This is what Studio Square NYC says about their beer;

"In The Garden, we take beer very seriously.  Our custom tap delivery system is one of the most advanced tap system in the world.  Employing theperfect blend of science and technology to deliver each of our brews at the precise temperature for maximum enjoyment."

Our drinks of choice: Sangria and Loaded Lemonade.
Not only is Studio Sqaure NYC known for having great beer and a great space, they also have a grill when you get a hunger craving. I saw so many massive buckets of fries while I was there that I almost caved and got one too. Luckily, I got over this craving once I thought about how many squats I would have to perform to work it off. Their grill menu consists of typical bar food like burgers, hot dogs, salads and fries and the best part is it's super cheap. Two bratwurst with fries for $8. Can't beat it!
Oh. My. Fry.
This place also hosts events most nights of the week, but if you don't want to participate in their activities you can always bring along your set of Taboo or cards like the locals do. Tuesdays they have a free movie nights and Thursdays is Karaoke with a live band. For full event details click here.

Studio Sqaure NYC is located at 35-33 36th street, Long Island City, NY 11106.

Steak 'n Shake

This past week I have been at Myrtle Beach with six of my friends- one of whom is obsessed with Steak 'n Shake. The whole ride down to South Carolina all my friend Jordan could talk about was how excited he was to get to Steak 'n Shake. When we arrived to the place "famous for steak burgers" he was in heaven.

We all sat down and got to looking over the menu and couldn't believe how cheap everything was. Their menu is full of unique burgers but that's not all they have. This place has a full menu of breakfast, lunch, dinner and milkshakes. Check out the full menu here.

I indulged in the Prince of Royale Steakburger which was topped with bacon, cheese and a over hard egg. To finish it off I also had a Salted Pretzel Milkshake for dessert and it was amazing! The best part about this place is the prices- $4 for a burger and fries and $3.75 for a huge milkshake. Can't beat it!

To find a Steak n'Shake near you click here. Now go shake it with a steak!

Bonkey's Bangs

Pineapple Mango Snowball
Eat, Sleep, Scoop. That's their motto and they're sticking to it. Bonkey's Homemade Ice Cream and Snowballs is "striving to keep "mom & pop" shops alive in small town America," and I am so glad they are. Bonkey's Homeade Ice Cream and Snowballs has been open since 2004 and gets its name from the owners Bonnie and Keith.

The menu at Bonkey's has so many options that it would take you over an hour to read them all. They have everything to satisfy your sweet tooth like ice cream, snowballs, old fashioned candy and chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick. The snowballs topped with marshmallow are my favorite and they have over 100 flavors to choose from. There are way too many things on the menu to list so  check out the full menu here.

Bonkey's is located at 28 E. Franklin Street, New freedom, PA 13749. They are open Monday-Friday 3-9pm and Saturday and Sunday 12-9pm. Go get your snowball on!

Hungry White Girls Bucket List: Chow Style

If you are like me, you love finding new places to get your chow-down on. One my most favorite sources of new and exciting places to find nourishment is the Travel Channel. I just can't get enough of it. Re-runs? No problem- I love those to. Looking at delicious food over and over again makes tickled pink and that leads us to the first entry of Hungry White Girls Bucket List: Chow Style.

The first place on my list is called R. U. HUNGRY? I saw this New Jersey FAT sandwich food truck on the Man vs. Food Series on Travel Channel. On the show the host was challenged to eat five FAT sandwiches in 45 minutes. Obviously I'm not looking to take on that challenge but I really would love to try these delicious looking sandwiches someday.

R. U. HUNGRY? has been a Rutgers University staple since the FAT CAT sandwich was concocted in 1979. It's the place where everyone goes when they are in the mood for a creative and calorie packed meal. I personally cannot wait to try the FAT DARRELL which is comprised of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and topped with lettuce, tomato and marinara sauce. Sounds like food heart attack that I cannot wait to have!

R. U. HUNGRY? is located at 40 College Ave. NewBrunswick, NJ,  08901. For more info check out there website here and since I know this is going to be on your bucket list now, lets just rent a party bus and go together!

Moon Dancerrrrrr

Moon Dancer Winery in Wrightsville, PA is the perfect escape for anyone. With their French Country Chateau over looking the Susquehanna River and there large selection of European Style dry wines, this place pretty much sums up the definition of wonderful. It's a charming and romantic place with live music year round and I love it!
Inside Looking Out
The beautiful patio!
My adventure to Moon Dancer Winery happened last summer when my mom and her friends invited Annie and I to come "hang with the girls" as my mom likes to say. And "hang with the girls" we did, along with a lot of other fun activities like listening to a live jazz band, having a picnic, taking funny photos with a roast and much more.

When we arrived we each paid a cover as we were driving in which included a wine glass to take home. Then we went to the wine bar, sampled a few choices and decided on the Peach wine. I'm and not much of a drinker so naturally, I let Annie make the final call.
Angie  doing the sniff and swirl technique.
Peach it is!
After the wine selections we made we headed out to the back yard to set up our picnic and relax. What a cool experience. I for one love picnics and the fact that Moon Dancer Winery encourages you to bring food along to enhance their wine is fantastic. We had a really great time and I cannot wait to go back again!
"The Girls"
Moon Dancer Winery has live acoustic music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Summer Concerts, Jazz Festivals, Corporate and Private Events and of course Weddings and Bridal Showers. They are located at 1282 Klines Run Road, Wrightsville, PA 17368. For more information click here. So go ahead- wine a little, you'll feel better.

Happiness Galore: The Bagel Store

The Bagel Store is so good that it has been featured on The Food Network, The Chew and the Cooking Channel. Scot Rossillo has been passionate about bagels for years calling The Bagel Store a "true labor of love." Every bagel is hand-rolled and "done the old fashioned way but with creativity made in small batches using only the finest natural added ingredients." And this is why The Bagel Store rocks.
They have unique flavors of both bagels and cream cheese. They are most famous for their "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" Bagel so that is what I ordered and it was amazing!
Some of the other bagel flavors they have are Vinegar N Salt, Pumpernickel, French Toast, Sun Dried Tomato and  Super Cinnamon Raisin. Some of their mouthwatering cream cheeses include; Buffalo, Bacon N Cheddar, Blueberry, Cannoli, Spinach Artichoke and Walnut Raisin.

I love this place because it is delicious, cheap and the staff is quick and friendly not to mention that they also ship bagels and cater. Try it out for yourself at either of their locations at 349 Bedford Ave. Brookly, NY 11211 or 754 Metropolitan Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11211. Eat it up all ready!

Brooklyn Bangers

This past weekend my friends Lauryn and Laura came to the Big Apple for a visit and I couldn't wait to take them to the Fort Green Flea. This flea market is so much fun! It is held in the 40,000-square-foot schoolyard at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Green, Brooklyn. It is "part vintage bazaar, part hipster hang, part old-fashioned town square, and part food bonanza" and I love every inch of it.

I love looking at all of the vintage clothing and jewelery as well as the handmade goods by local artists. This past weekend we checked out Brooklyn Bangers. They offer all sorts of yummy hot dogs such as; Cheddar Bratwurst, Kielbasa, Weisswurst, Knackwurst, Bratwurst and Spicy All Beef Sausage. I went with the Cheddar Bratwurst topped with sauerkraut and it was fantastic. Brooklyn Bangers can be found every Saturday at the Fort Green Flea or at their home store located at 111 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

While I was enjoying my Brooklyn Banger...
Laura was standing guard of the trash making sure everyone disposed properly.

After the market we headed to Time Square and played at Toys "R" Us. We check out the massive Lego statues and bought lots of candy. Everyone should go here at least one time in their life so here is the address for you: 1514 Broadway NY, NY 10036.

Next we went to see a Broadway show! We got tickets for Jekyll and Hyde staring Constantine and Deborah Cox. The cast was really talented and we had a great time. It was a jam packed day and we all had a blast!

Earl of Sandwich

So one time my friend Annie was like "Oh My Gosh Olivia...you have got to try Earl of Sandwich," and that was that. When Alex and I went to Atlantic City for the weekend we walked right on over to Earl of Sandwich and got ourselves some of the goods. Well... we got lost for almost a mile and couldn't figure out what casino it was in, but when we finally figured it out, then we walked right on over.
"I'm pumped to find Earl of Sandwich!"
"Seriously- where is this place?"
"Earl of Sandwich straight ahead!"
Alex and I visited Earl of Sandwich in the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. It's quick service and the sandwiches were delish! Their menu is made up of hot sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast and desserts. Check out their full menu here. It's a good place to go if you want some yummy food in a hurry. I got their famous Hawaiian BBQ sandwich. Its made of grilled chicken, ham, swiss, pineapple and Hawaiian BBQ sauce.
Hawaiian BBQ
Earl of Sandwich has a lot of locations and luckily one of them in right here in NYC at 1290 6th Avenue (W 52nd st between 5th & 6th ave) New York, NY 10104. Go get some meat between two slices of bread already!

Finger Lickin' at Sticky's Chicken

Sticky's Finger Joint is the first variety gourmet Chicken Finger restaurant in New York City. This unique spot only uses "antibiotic free, hormone free, cruelty free, free range chicken" to serve of some of NYC'S tastiest chicken fingers. You are probably thinking "what's the big deal? Its just chicken fingers," but you are so wrong. Keep reading to find out all about the place that's "crunching things up" with their fantastic chicken!

From the outside no one would know how fantastic this place really is. I discovered Sticky's Finger Joint because my best friend Annie was visiting for the weekend and her favorite food is chicken. I mean this girl talks about making a cook book called "365 Days of Chicken." So, after a few minuets of searching the web for a finger lickin' good chicken joint, I came across Sticky's Finger Joint on The Underground Gourmet's 2012 Cheap List (check it out here) and we headed on over.

We were surprised and excited when got there to see the variety of chicken fingers they offered. Since they sell each flavor in one strip or three we tried a few different strips and I'm so glad we did

Starting on the top left is the General Sticky Tso, Salted Caramel and Wasabi. On the second row we have a side of Truffle Fries and a Bada Bing. There are so many  flavors to choose from but Annie and I agreed hands down that the Salted Caramel was our favorite. At Sticky's Finger Joint they also make a plethora of homemade sauces to dip your chicken and fries into. Check out the full menu here
Can't wait to dig in!
Are you craving these delectable chicken fingers yet?! Head on over to Sticky's Finger Joint at 31 West 8th Street, New York City, NY, 10011 or call them at 212-777-713. Everyday they open at noon and keep the chicken coming till super late. Oh, and the best part is they cater so I'm pretty sure Annie might have them cater her wedding someday due to her love of chicken. Enjoy ya chicken folks!
